2017 Season

Crested Butte Mountain Theatre would like to thank all the kids and mentors that made our 2017 summer camp a total blast! Their production of Beauty & The Beast was truly impressive.

We hope to see all of you at our Holiday Extravaganza on Elk.

Picture
Our sincere thanks goes to the CB/Mt. CB Rotary club for providing scholarships for three of these great kids through their generous grant. Theatre should be available to all and you helped ensure that.

Thanks so much to the Brick Oven Pizzeria for providing pizza for our cast party!

CBMT's Children's Theatre will be holding open auditions for our December production!

Auditions are on September 9th and 23rd from 9am-11am.

Rehearsals will be every Saturday.

Are you interested in being a part of the production but not in acting? We're looking for kids 13 and up to be part of our stage and tech crew. If you're interested email CBMT at office_mttheatre@crestedbutte.net.

CBMT is excited to announce our summer theatre camp!
Directed by Jesse Buchanan

The camp is open to children grades K-5 and will expose them to all aspects of a theatrical production such as set design, stage tech (lighting and sound), costume design, makeup (both character and stage), and acting (warm up skills and concepts like character development).
We offer a mentors program for grades 6-12. These mentors will gain the same experience as grades K-5 with an emphasis on taking a leadership role. Mentors will be in charge of helping kids with costume design, lighting and set building. Finally, mentors will direct grades K-5 in a theatrical production.
The camp runs Monday thru Friday, August 14th - 25th, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. for grades K-5 and 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. for mentors.

Through a generous grant from the CB/Mt. CB Rotary Club we are able to offer need based scholarships to children interested in our summer camp!

We would like to sincerely thank the Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Rotary Club for funding these scholarships and encourage anyone to apply

You are invited to participate in the
Crested Butte Mountain Theatre’s 45th Anniversary Legacy Project Art Exhibit
Featuring paintings and/or photographs of the Old Town Hall.

In conjunction with the ever-popular Ten-Minute Plays
The exhibit (Images of the Old Town Hall) opens June 15th at the Mallardi Cabaret Theatre and will be up until July 15th.
We have three different options for all artists:
  • If you enter your work for sale and it sells during the show, 70% would go to the Artist and 30% would go to Crested Butte Mountain Theatre.
  • Your work can be listed for sale and be a part of the Silent Auction going on June 15th – the 17th with an artists reception on June 17th before and after the Ten-Minute Plays that evening. Artists would decide their minimum bid price for the silent auction. The Silent auction would conclude Saturday, June 17th
  • You can display your work during the entire length of the show and not have it for sale. Cost is a $25 donation to the theatre.
Artists would be responsible for pick up and delivery of their work. All work must be submitted no later than June 10th. Unless uncalled for, we encourage all work to be framed and ready to hang.
Crested Butte Mountain Theatre will be responsible for proper storage and security. Crested Butte Mountain Theatre with assistance from two local galleries, Oh Be Joyful and Rendezvous will be responsible for hanging all art. All artists are encouraged to submit entry forms as soon as possible. You can download our form here.

Mountain Theatre has a long history of supporting the Arts in Crested Butte. Please be a part of this tribute to the Crested Butte Mountain Theatre’s 45 years of community service and our 20th anniversary of occupying the Old Town Hall - Two icons coming together to celebrate and support the arts in Crested Butte.
