Early One Evening at the Rainbow Bar and GrilleIn a run-down Western Pennsylvania town, it appears the world may be coming to an end, and some people are handling it better than others.

Find out how this small group of people confront the apocalypse when Crested Butte Mountain Theatre presents Early One Evening at the Rainbow Bar and Grille May 27 & 28 and June 3 & 4 at the Mallardi Cabaret Theatre.
The play, written by playwright, actor and screenwriter Bruce Graham, is a dark comedy that centers around Shep, a bartender at the Rainbow Bar and Grille. Patrons, friends and strangers stop by at the bar as the day progresses and each in their own way grapple with what appears to be “The End.” Shep is no different, but his idea of how to deal with the situation changes dramatically when a mysterious stranger enters the bar with a proposition. Funny, disturbing, and thought provoking, the play ends on a note of somewhat ambiguous hopefulness. Written in the mid-1980s, Early One Evening at the Rainbow Bar and Grille often seems like a play that was written in the past year or two.
The CBMT production is directed by Paul Edwards and features the acting talents of Jimmy Utley, Alec Lindeman, Ian Wrisley, Nel Burkett, Jack Mangan, Molly Arment, and Emily Wallick. Doors open at 7:00 and curtain is at 7:30.
