In the Kitchen is
written by our own artistic director, Brent Laney.
Inspired perhaps by what life is like in a resort
town, where most people have washed dishes, served
food or cleared tables, this play shows a bit more
about life when personalities mix. Foster and Brandon
live in their own random world. Foster is a singer/songwriter
trapped in a small town. While waiting for the
right oppertunity to move away, he decides to help
a friend out by managing a restaruant. Brandon
is his best friend and assistent manager whose
only noticeable ambition is to find someone else
to clean the bathroom. Everything in the kitchen
changes when Leigh, the new bartender, and Twyla,
the new waitress, come to work. This sitcom style
comedy shows not only kitchen life, but real life.
In the Kitchen will show at the Mallardi
Cabaret from May 29 through 31 at 7:30 p.m. each
evening. There will also be a second performance
