Second Annual YouTheatre Program: April 26-29, 2012

At CBMT, we believe in the power of the arts. Our youth programs are aimed at recognizing the diversity of our audiences, exposing children to a
wide range of ideas and experiences and insuring future audiences. We continue to expand and explore a variety of youth theatre programs in a
conscious attempt to serve the whole community. By working together and exploring various genres of material we foster creativity,
independent thinking, and respect for the unique gifts and talents of all people. Our second annual YouTheatre production opens April 26th and
runs through the 29th. Mark your calendars for Happily Ever After and come out and support our local youth and YOUR community theatre.

Happily Ever After and others      by George Halitzka

When Gregory Wolf shows up at the Grimm Brothers' office, he only wants one thing: a happy ending. Gregory believes that even a wolf can live happily ever after, but Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Little Pigs are convinced that he's destined to be a villain. Gregory could be a wolf with a heart of gold or he could have Grandmas on his mind. Only Jacob Grimm can give him a story that's just right.

Crested Butte Mountain Theatre is proud to announce the YouTheatre performance of Happily Ever After, Cinderella in Middle School, and Ten Little Pigs by George Halitzka, directed by the mother-daughter team of Deborah and Danielle Gillman. This production features young people, ages 8-14, in this fun and educational theatrical experience.  George's "Fractured Fairy Tales" provide numerous educational opportunities for children to learn about theatre, themselves and each other by exploring behavior, values and themes in the plays. Issues such as bullying, judging based on appearances, bragging, peer pressure and abuse are tempered with examples of team building skills, responsibility, perseverance, compassion, cooperation and forgiveness, among others. These all youth performances are scheduled for April 26-29, 2012 at the Mallardi Cabaret Theatre, @7:00 pm with a Sunday matinee scheduled on the 29th @ 3:00 pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for CBMT members, $10 for students, and children under 10 pay their age.
