SKYLER MATTHIAS / ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Skyler Matthias is Crested Butte Mountain Theatre’s new Artistic Director, bringing a vision for unique and innovative theatrical experiences. With a Bachelors degree in Theatre Arts and a Master’s in Educational Leadership, he combines artistic creativity with educational expertise. Skyler’s lifelong involvement in community theaters has shaped his commitment to the arts. Before moving to the Valley, he founded Lightswitch Theatre Company, dedicated to experimental theater and pushing the boundaries of theatre storytelling. In this role, he hopes to not only create engaging theatrical productions, but develop creative spaces for artists, whether seasoned or just beginning their creative journey, to fearlessly embrace their imagination and play. Be on the lookout for new education offerings for both students and adults, as well as a full season of exciting productions on the Mallardi Stage!
ALEC LINDEMAN / EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Alec Lindeman Executive Director - Has been an actor with the Crested Butte Mountain Theatre for nearly a decade. He was Stage Manager for the CBMT production of "Vanya, Sasha, Masha, & Spike and been on light and sound crew for countless shows on the Mallardi stage. He was previously the Membership & Outreach Director for KBUT where he has been a DJ for 12 years. His other love has always been CBMT and he's excited to serve the Mountain Theatre in a professional capacity. "For 50 years the Crested Butte Mountain Theatre has helped community members come together to create and preform. It's where I was first lucky enough to be a part of any type of theatrical production and I am so thrilled to be a part of the wonderful team that helps other community members take the stage."
MAYA HUBERTY / SUMMER INTERN
Maya Huberty is ecstatic to be an intern with Crested Butte Mountain Theater this summer! She is currently a third year student at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music where she plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater. Maya began her journey in the arts as a dancer; studying ballet and contemporary from a young age. While she continues to study dance, nowadays you are more likely to find her singing and playing her guitar. She looks forward to performing the role of Sonia in the play Life Sucks by Aaron Posner when she returns to Boston this fall.
