Welcome to the Crested Butte Mountain Theatre Education Program, where young minds discover the joy and power of theatre in a dynamic and supportive environment. Located at The Mallardi Theatre in partnership with the Crested Butte Community School, our program offers four engaging classes per year, each tailored to different age groups and focusing on diverse aspects of theatrical arts.

From exploring the intricacies of tech design to honing performance skills through play, and from embracing spontaneity in improvisation to delving into the whimsical world of clown techniques, our classes cater to a range of interests and abilities. With a curriculum designed to foster creativity, confidence, and social emotional learning, students embark on a transformative journey where they not only develop their theatrical talents but also cultivate invaluable life skills. Join us for an unforgettable theatrical adventure where imagination knows no bounds, friendships are forged, and the magic of theatre comes to life!

More About our Camp Director
Julia Wilson has taught the YouTheatre Camp for CBMT for the last several years. She directed and costumed children’s musicals at the Gunnison Arts Center and more recently wrote and directed her own musical version of The Velveteen Rabbit for children and adults. Julia has also supervised the GAC’s summer theatre camp and directed the participants in the musical production of Don’t Count Your Chickens Until They Cry Wolf. She has been the accompanist for the last several Missoula Children’s Theatre productions at the GAC including last summer’s production of The Jungle Book.
